Low Kang Cabinet, Light Elm
This particular model in light elm is based on the Kang cabinets which were used to hold all sorts of general items or valuables often stored in hard to reach or 'secret' sections inside. This type of cabinet is ideal for use as a TV stand, with three central drawers and two cupboard sections, each with a removable shelf inside. They are based on the low level furniture that would be placed on the 'kang' - a raised, hollow platform made from brick or earth that would be heated from below and which formed the main living space in Chinese homes in the colder northern provinces. Our version has plenty of space for storage and is made from solid wood, with brass hardware.
