Decorated Wooden Hat Box

These decorative round boxes are from Shandong province in northern China, and were once used to store hats of Chinese officials. The painted gold decoration on each one show flowers, phoenixes and other traditional patterns, now quite faded against the old red lacquer. The price shown is for a single box and the photo shown is an example only - the actual boxes available may differ slightly from the ones shown here.
