Book Cabinet, Black Lacquer
During the Ming and Qing dynasties it was more common for there to be a single open shelf, often with a carved frame around it, with a large cabinet section below. Our black lacquer model is an updated version with a larger open section with three shelves and two smaller doors at the bottom, making it ideal as a bookshelf in a modern home or for displaying ornaments. The Chinese refer to cabinets like this, with open shelves above a closed section, as display cabinets. The bottom section has a single removable shelf inside.
