Many thanks to all those who visited our 'pop-up' shop in London

Shimu recently took over the wonderful space at Arthill Gallery in Kensington for ten days to showcase our Chinese antiques, handcrafted furniture and homewares, along with beautiful paintings provided by the gallery - works by the artists Shi Rongqiang and Liu Yitong.

Shimu pop-up shopIt was great to see so many of our customers from over the years, most of whom we were able to meet for the first time. Whilst we love being based in Yorkshire and our large showroom here is the best place to view our selection, the pop-up was a great chance for us to catch up with customers in and around London that we've dealt with for years online or over the phone, as well as to meet up with interior designers and to see many new enthusiasts of Chinese furniture.

Shimu pop-up shop, classical Chinese furnitureArthill Gallery is based in the ground floor of a converted methodist church on North End Road in Kensington. If you live in the area then you'll instantly recognise the building - an ornate, red brick building with huge arched windows to the front. Inside the floor is section off into distinctive areas, with wooden floors and lighting that is not only perfect for its main use as an art gallery, but also for showing off our beautiful furniture and antiques.

We closed our doors at the pop-up on Sunday evening and after a long day of loading vans back up, headed home on Monday afternoon.

Shimu London pop-up shopWe hope to be down at the gallery or at another location in London again in the not too distant future so, if you're in the area and didn't make it this time around, there will be other opportunities to catch us. Otherwise, why not plan a trip to Yorkshire? You'll find a huge selection of furniture and home accessories on display in our large, light showroom and there are the Yorkshire dales, Howarth (home of the Brontes), Saltaire world heritage site, Bradford Media Museum and much more all on our doorstep if you want to make a weekend of it.

In the meantime enjoy the photos taken at our pop-up shop and if there is anything you see that you would like more details on then feel free to give me or my team a call.
