Thick Framed Chinese Storage Cabinet
Shandong, circa 1910
This lovely sideboard is made from pine and comes from the Shandong region. It dates from the early part of the 20th century and still has the old hardware, including the decorative brackets the strengthen the corner joints at the top. The doors are set centrally with a panel either side, but open out to give access to the full width of the interior, which is fitted with a removable shelf. The wood has been stained to a lovely colour and tone that nicely contrasts with the heavy brass handles and hinges. A very attractive piece to be used as a dining buffet or for living room storage.
