The finish is lightly distressed, with darker markings and glimpses of warm wood along the edges complementing the character of the old timber. The lacquer’s gentle sheen highlights the moulded top and the framed drawer fronts.

Three drawers run across the upper row, with two smaller drawers below at either end, flanking a pair of fixed central panels. Simple metal drop handles contrast with the red finish, while recessed side panels and straight legs with subtly shaped feet complete the balanced design. A lovely console for a hallway or living room, it offers useful storage for keys and other small items, with space on top for a lamp, photographs or favourite ornaments. Its strong colour would make a particularly striking focal point against a neutral wall.
