Pair of Blue Lacquer Side Tables
Shandong, circa 1920
It is quite unusual to find a pair of tables like this one still together as they so often get separated over time. This pair are simple in design, with a quite chunky top and legs which end in typical horsehoof feet. 'S' shaped stretchers on all four sides support the legs. The tables have been refinished in a modern, distressed blue lacquer that still shows the old wood through in places and which gives a fresher, updated feel. Ideal in a reception room perhaps either side of a fireplace, or as hallway consoles. Sold as a pair, the price is for both tables.
