Low Walnut Three Drawer Table
Gansu, circa 1860
This beautiful low table is in walnut wood, a material that was commonly used for furniture making in the western part of Gansu province. It has a lovely tone and colour, with a beautiful character and patina formed over the years. The style is distinctive to Gansu furniture with curved, 'deer shaped' feet and an extended table top. The three drawers at the front, each with the old ring handles, are set within beaded frames and the beaded apron below is subtly curved. Perfect as a long, narrow coffee table or TV stand.
