Low Painted Three Door Cabinet
Gansu, circa 1900
This little, low sideboard would be ideal today as a stand for a TV. It comes from Gansu and the colours of red, old cream and black are typical of furniture from the eastern part of the region. The door panels show paintings of flower vases and other prized possessions, set within black lacquer rounded frames. The door handles are a recent addition.
