Grey Lacquer End Cabinet
Shandong, circa 1920
Restored and refinished in a greenish grey lacquer, this charming little cabinet would work well as a bedside unit, but is narrow enough to work in any space, with useful storage space inside the two doors and full width drawer. The style is fairly simple, with thick frames that are typical of furniture from Shandong province in northeast China. However the bottom apron beneath the doors is beautifully carved in a highly stylised design of scrolling dragons. There is a single removable shelf inside.
