Eight Drawer Pine Counter
Shanxi, circa 1890
With two open shelves at the bottom and eight drawers, this cabinet would have served as a trading counter. It is made from pine, finished with the original dark lacquer, now worn around the edges and top surfaces. It would be ideal today as a dresser or dining room buffet, with space at the bottom for plates and bowls and drawers for cutlery and napkins. Or use as a display surface in a hallway, with our blue and white ceramics on the shelves and vases of flowers on the top.
