Carved Temple Table in Natural Wood Finish
Shaanxi, circa 1850
This stunning table is made from elm and has been stripped back to show the natural wood colour. It would originally have been used to hold offerings to ancestors and is still in beautiful condition. The ornate scroll carvings on the legs, apron and spandrels are typical of furniture from the central province of Shaanxi and are particularly fine on the feet. The simple ring handles on the drawers are original. With its one large drawer and two smaller drawers there is ample storage space for use in any living room, dining room or even bedroom.
