The broad top and panelled sides have a particularly varied surface, adding depth and character to the bold colour. Sweeping, pierced scroll carvings flank the front, giving the otherwise plain design an elegant decorative flourish.

The two central doors are fitted with a large circular metal backplate and drop handles, newly added to replace the original hardware. The narrower outer panels, originally fixed, have recently been adapted into doors with smaller matching handles, allowing easier access across the interior. A broad lower panel and short, sturdy feet complete the sideboard’s substantial, balanced form.

A beautiful focal point for a dining room or living room, this piece combines useful cupboard storage with generous display space for lamps, ceramics or favourite objects. Its deep red colour would bring warmth to a neutral setting or complement a richer interior with darker walls and wooden floors.
