The painted decoration has faded and worn away in places, revealing the wood beneath while leaving intriguing details across the four doors. Fan-shaped designs with traces of Chinese calligraphy sit alongside floral motifs and decorative objects, giving the frontage plenty of interest.

A broad, overhanging top rests above small shaped brackets, while plain panelled sides and sturdy legs balance the decorative front. Each door is fitted with a simple metal drop handle, opening to an interior with a single shelf running across the width. This provides useful storage for tableware, glasses and other household items. Originally only the central doors would have been present, with the two outer fixed panels being converted recently for practicality.

A lovely focal point for a dining room or living room, the sideboard offers ample space on top for lamps or ceramics along with the generous space inside. Its rich, earthy colours would bring warmth to any interior.
