The surface is worn through in places to reveal warm amber tones and the grain beneath, giving the wood a lovely depth and character. Across the centre of the two doors, blue and purple flowers are interwoven with fine scrolling stems, forming a decorative arrangement around the metal drop handles.

Carved flowers and curling foliage follow the shaped surrounds of the door panels, adding subtle relief to the painted front. Below, a pierced, scalloped apron softens the cabinet’s sturdy rectangular frame, while the panelled sides are left plain.

The doors open to reveal a spacious cupboard divided by a single shelf, providing useful storage for crockery, table linen or other household items. A lovely piece for a living room, dining room or hallway, its dark finish and small touches of colour would sit beautifully alongside natural wood and neutral fabrics, with space on top for a lamp and ornaments.
