Low Wide Rustic Stool
Shandong, circa 1900
These low, wide stools are of a type used across China by farm or factory workers. They date from around the beginning of the last century and were sourced from Shandong province in northern China. They each have splayed legs supported by single stretchers, with a thick, extended seat. They are made from elm, with a natural, weathered finish that shows the signs of their age. They are great as handy little tables, as steps of for portable seating.
Each stool varies in terms of size and style so the dimensions shown are meant as a guideline only. We will be happy to send photos and details of our current stock for you to choose from.
