This two door, two drawer cabinet is a nice size to be used as a small sideboard or in a reception room. Unlike most similar cabinets from Beijing and the north of China, it does not have circular hardware and hinges. Instead the doors are framed and fixed with more understated brass handles.

Low chests and cabinets were common in China during the Ming Dynasty and would have been used for everyday storage on the heated ‘kang’ living space. This more contemporary design is ideal to hold televisions and other entertainment units. Rather than being a reproduction of an older Chinese design, this is more a case of modern furniture with Chinese characteristics. The four small drawers and larger drawer at the bottom are perfect for holding CDs or DVDs, while the shelf has a hole behind for feeding through wires.
