 |  14/12/09 - House Beautiful shortslists Shimu for 'Best Furniture Range'
Shimu has been shortlisted for the 2009 'Best Furniture Range' award by House Beautiful magazine for its Chinese Country Furniture. One of ten companies to be shortlisted, Shimu was selected amongst much larger retailers such as John Lewis and Laura Ashley.
Our Chinese Country range is exclusive to Shimu and includes reproductions of designs from hundreds of years ago as well as more contemporary pieces. Each piece is produced from old, reclaimed elm wood, using traditional Chinese joinery, and in a very natural finish. The wood itself is given a pronounced grain, enhancing its beauty and making each piece highly tactile.
Launched earlier in 2009, the range has already proved popular and we plan to extend it with some more stunning pieces over the coming months. To see the current range click here.
