This long, low Chinese cabinet not only provides plenty of storage space but is also the perfect height for a TV. With three drawers and a shelf inside each of the two cupboards, there is plenty of room for storing videos and DVDs. Alternatively, use it as a more traditional dining room sideboard or against a living room wall. The Chinese would have placed cabinets like this at the centre of the kang - a platform heated from below that was used as the main living space in colder regions. It would have been used to hold various household items, as well as valuables stored in secret compartments. Made of reclaimed elm with brass hinges, drawer pulls and lock plates.
