Desk with Three Drawers

This simple little desk dates from the 1920s, after the Qing dynasty had collapsed and China was a republic. It is an interesting mix of styles, with western influences visible in the straight legs and more modern handles, but with the waisted top and carved detail between the legs unmistakably Chinese. This would still be perfect as a writing desk today or could be used as a console table.
