Two Drawer Side Table

Beijing, circa 1900
This simple little table would originally have been used as a desk or work table. The drawer handles have been replaced, but the dark lacquer is original, now worn in places to leave a lovely crackled patina. The only decorative elements are the shaped aprons at the top of the two front legs and the classic horse hoof shaped feet. Great today as a little console.
