Beijing, circa 1930This is another piece that would have been made for a western concession in Beijing in the 1930s. The desk is still in its original reddish lacquer and has the original drawer handles in quite an unusual, art deco style. The narrow, tapered legs ending in moulded feet are also an unusual feature. With seven drawers along with a couple of cabinet spaces, this is a quite unique piece that still works wonderfully as an interesting desk for a home office.
