For centuries trunks performed much the same storage function as cabinets in China. As with other types of furniture, styles and materials varied across different regions and our selection reflects this. Trunks from Tibet, Qinghai and Mongolia were usually painted, often with animals such as the wonderful Tiger trunks that we offer. Trunks from the north and east of China were usually plainer and often made from camphor wood for its aromatic properties a natural insect repellent. Now carefully restored, these pieces provide wonderful and unusual storage for the modern home.
