Like the other painted Chinese furniture in our classical range, this beautiful sideboard is based on furniture from Shanxi province in north central China. The four doors are adorned with gold leaf and painted with butterflies, a common symbol in China for long life and also for marital happiness. The outer frames are decorated with flowers, while the four upper drawers are patterned in gold. The cabinet has one removable shelf inside each of the two sections.
