Gansu Stool

This unusual little stool is from the western province of Gansu. Stools were used for seating in homes all over China, being easily stored and moved around when required. The design of this one, with its cabriole legs and thick circular seat, is far less common than the square and rectangular stools more readily available today. Great as a little side table or vase stand.
