Qinghai, circa 1880This midsized cabinet has the pure, almost contemporary style typical of Qinghai cabinets. The original red lacquer is still in place, although worn particularly towards the bottom of the cabinet. The small door hardware is also old and adds the only decoration to the otherwise very simple design. As with most Qinghai furniture, the doors are set within outer panels rather than mounted onto the frames, but give access to the full space inside. The cabinet has one shelf.
