Black Lacquer Side Cabinet

Beijing, circa 1900
This little cabinet would be great next to a bed or beside a sofa. It originates from Beijing and has the simple design and solid appearance of much of the furniture from around the city. The heavy brass hardware is the only decoration other than the shaped bottom apron. The black lacquer is original and has survived the test of time well, with little sign of wear. The cabinet has one shelf inside.
